Special Issue of the Finance Journal on “Digital transformation and green transition: Challenges and opportunities for the banking system”

Finance, the academic journal of the French Finance Association, is pleased to announce a Special Issue on “Digital transformation and green transition: Challenges and opportunities for the banking system”.

The aim of the Special Issue is to publish high-quality research papers that make significant contributions to the literature on digital transformation and the green transition in banking. Topics include, but are not limited to: the effect of FinTech competition on banks’ digital transformation; the adoption of Artificial Intelligence in banking, including assessments and challenges related to current applications of Generative Artificial Intelligence; the impact of climate change and the green transition on credit institutions; the integration of ESG criteria into bank lending decisions.

We invite original theoretical and empirical research papers in accordance with the submission guidelines. Manuscripts should be submitted via the Manuscript Manager website by 30 April 2027. During submission, authors should select the Special Issue “Digital transformation and green transition in the banking system”. The standard submission fee applies. Manuscripts will undergo double-blind peer review.

Guest editors Natalia Andries (ERUDITE) and Steve Billon (University of Strasbourg) will manage the Special Issue, which is associated with the second edition of the Compliance and Strategy in International Banking Conference. Nevertheless, all scholars are encouraged to submit their contributions, and conference attendance is not a prerequisite.
